At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, Edmonton Police Service Downtown Division officers responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 100 Street and Jasper Avenue. It was reported that two individuals entered into an altercation involving firearms outside a nightclub in the area.
Shots were allegedly fired and it was reported the suspects fled the area, one on foot and the other in a vehicle. Police do not believe the shooting was random.
During the altercation, three bystanders sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds. A female (31-years-old), a male (35-years-old) and a second male (23-years-old) were treated and transported to hospital by EMS. All three are now in stable condition.
A fight to the east of the nightclub took place at the time of the shooting. The two incidents, and any connection between the two, are still under investigation by Downtown Division.
