Several businesses on 99 Street from Ellerslie Road to Argyll Road reported their broken windows to police on Friday, May, 1, 2015. Police believe these criminal events occurred in the early morning and evening of Thursday, April 30, 2015 and some are believed to have occurred overnight.
“One business has 28 large windows that were all shot out with either a pellet gun or air rifle,” says Staff Sgt. Warren Driechel with Southeast Division. “This random act of vandalism is not acceptable in our city. So far, six businesses have been victimized by this senseless act.”
Other mischief complaints regarding smashed car windows and bus shelters have also been reported in the Ottewell and Capilano areas this week.
Complaints are still being reported to police as they investigate to determine if these events are related. A suspect has not yet been identified.
