Witnesses sought in hit-and-run pedestrian collision on Whyte Avenue

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run collision involving a female pedestrian on Whyte Avenue that occurred on March 9th.

Southwest Division patrol members responded to the call at approximately 1 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, near Whyte Avenue and 106 Street.

It was reported to police that an 18-year-old woman was walking westbound in the middle of Whyte Avenue near 106 Street, when a white 2014 Ford Escape that was also westbound on Whyte Ave allegedly struck the woman, before fleeing the scene.

The pedestrian was treated and transported to hospital by EMS paramedics with non-life threating injuries. Investigators believe the vehicle was being driven by a 29-year-old male, who also had an unidentified passenger with him at the time of the collision.
