EPS detectives investigate stabbing on 124 Street

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a stabbing that occurred yesterday on 124 Street.

On Saturday, Apr. 16, 2016 at approximately 5 p.m., police responded to an assault with a weapon in the area of 124 Street and 106 Avenue.  It is reported that a male and female were walking when a suspect allegedly brushed up against the male. Moments later, the male felt pain and realized he had been stabbed.

A driver of a vehicle passing by witnessed the assault, called police and assisted the injured male.

The male was treated and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witness reports describe the male suspect wearing dark clothing.

Police continue to investigate to determine if this was a random incident.
