Police believe the suspects responsible for a home invasion and subsequent death of Nelson fled the murder scene in a white Jeep Compass (year unknown). The vehicle seen in images below is detailed with black roof rails, side mirrors and front-door handles.
The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing the area westbound on 120 Avenue from 61 Street in the northeast Edmonton neighbourhood of Montrose, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2019.
Nelson, 59, died in hospital later that evening, as a result of blunt force trauma incurred from an altercation during the home invasion.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this suspect vehicle and/or the suspects involved in this homicide are asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Background
Northeast patrol members responded to a residential address near 119 Avenue and 61 Street at approximately 8:50 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, after receiving a 911 call regarding trouble unknown.
Upon arrival, officers entered the home and discovered two complainants, a male and a female with undetermined injuries. The suspects fled the residence prior to the arrival of police.
Homicide investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating this white Jeep Compass, believed to be the suspect vehicle involved in the Jan. 18th murder of Barbara Nelson.
