Police seek witnesses after pedestrian struck in collision

The Edmonton Police Service Traffic Section is seeking witnesses to a collision that occurred last night that has left one man in hospital with serious injuries.

On Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2016 just after 8:45 p.m. it was reported that a 55-year-old male was crossing in a marked crosswalk southbound to northbound from 111 Avenue on the west side of 127 Street. At the same time, a 2015 red GMC Sierra was conducting a left turn (west) onto 111 Avenue and struck the pedestrian. EMS treated and transported the male to hospital where he remains with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe speed or alcohol to be factors in this collision. No charges have been laid against the 40-year-old male driver at this time. The investigation continues.
