Police investigating shots fired outside lounge; one man dead

On Sunday, Mar. 27, 2016, at around 2:40 a.m., police were called to the area of 81 Avenue and 105 Street to the report of shots being fired.

When police arrived, they found two men who appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds. Both individuals were treated and transported to hospital by EMS, where one of the men, believed to be in his 30’s, succumbed to his injuries. The other man remains in hospital, in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police do not have any suspects in custody at this time and hope to speak with any witnesses who may have been in the area in the early morning hours.

An autopsy is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday (Mar. 30, 2016).
