Police seek public’s assistance locating missing senior

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 87-year-old man who was last seen yesterday afternoon.

Edwin Alstad, 87, was last seen in the area of 16 Avenue and 42 Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 2, 2020. He was operating a 2004 silver Ford Freestar, bearing a veteran’s license plate (with a poppy) reading VAW03. The vehicle also has a red and blue front plate, which reads Retired Air Force.

Alstad stands 5’6" and weighs approximately 138 lbs. He has blue eyes and greyish-brown hair. He was last seen wearing a brown flannel shirt, a tan coloured vest and dress pants.

Alstad has dementia and other medical conditions which require medication. As such, there are concerns for his welfare.
