Police charge three youth centre staff members in relation to 2019 incident

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged three staff members from the Yellowhead Youth Centre with aggravated assault in relation to an incident that took place in August 2019.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, police received information in relation to an alleged altercation that occurred at the Yellowhead Youth Centre on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019. It was reported to police that a female youth and three staff members of the facility were involved in an altercation which resulted in serious, non-life-threatening injuries to the youth.

 

On Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, 45-year-old Jennifer Germaine Gillis Pickard, 35-year-old Matthew Thompson and 34-year-old Tiffiney Jestina Daria Clarke Brashko, were each charged with one count of aggravated assault in relation to the 2019 incident.

 

As this matter is currently before the courts, the EPS is not able to provide further comment or information about this incident or investigation.
