At approximately 4:55 a.m., on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, Southwest patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint near Chappelle Drive and Claxton. When officers arrived, they located Patterson who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was treated and transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have identified two vehicles of interest which were in the area at the time of the homicide and are looking to the public for assistance in identifying the vehicles and driver(s).
The first vehicle of interest is believed to be an older, white Mazda3 with a sunroof and distinct Continental ContiSportContact 5 SSR tires (photos and video below).

The second vehicle of interest is believed to be a dark-coloured, Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu came into the Chapelle area and picked up a male from a home which was under construction at the time (photos and video below).
The male who was picked up from the home under construction is described as a middle-aged man in his mid-to-late 30s, with an olive skin tone. He stands approximately 6’0” tall, with a slim build and was wearing white sneakers, blue jeans, a dark hoodie and a construction vest at the time. Homicide detectives are hoping to speak with this man, who is considered to be a person of interest in this investigation.

Kurt Martin with the Homicide Section. “If you have any information about either of the two vehicles, the person of interest or Mr. Pattison’s murder, I encourage you to get in touch with us.”
