EPS releases CCTV footage of club shooting; investigators seek public’s assistance identifying suspects involved

Police are releasing CCTV footage from inside a downtown club where a man was shot last weekend.

On Sunday, July 5, 2020, at approximately 3:15 a.m. Downtown Patrol officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding in 102 Street and 104 Avenue. Inside the vehicle, officers located a 26-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Police contacted EMS immediately and the victim was transported to hospital by paramedics, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that a shooting had occurred at Star Night Club (10586 109 Street). When officers attended the Club, several individuals were observed leaving the establishment who were uncooperative with police. Officers also observed blood inside the lounge and obtained CCTV footage to assist with the investigation.

Police are releasing the CCTV footage from inside the Club at the time of the shooting, to identify the suspects involved. While many people are observed quickly leaving the lounge in the video, investigators are specifically interested in identifying the males with firearms and would like to speak with anyone who was present at the time of the shooting.

At this time, the 26-year-old male continues to recover from his injuries, however no arrests have been made.
