Police seek owners of recovered stolen property

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the original owners of some stolen property following the arrest of two individuals responsible for multiple break-and-enters in Edmonton and Sherwood Park.

On Sep. 13, 2017 Southwest Division officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress in the area of Adamson Drive and Allard Link. Witnesses reported that two individuals, a male and a female, broke into a multi-unit residence, allegedly attempting to steal keys that provided access to building storage units.  Upon police arrival, the suspects reportedly fled in a stolen, silver Honda Civic, struck a nearby tree and continued to flee on foot.

With the assistance of EPS Air 1, both suspects were taken into custody a short time later and the vehicle was also seized.  Inside the stolen vehicle officers located break-and-enter tools and a large volume of allegedly stolen property.

Following a thorough investigation, including assistance from the Strathcona County RCMP, officers determined that the two suspects were linked to several break-and-enters that reportedly occurred from August through September in southeast Edmonton, southwest Edmonton and Sherwood Park. In addition, police are seeking a third male suspect allegedly linked to these break-and-enters and have issued warrants for his arrest. Combined, the three suspects have been charged with more than 60 Criminal Code offences.

While owners for majority of the recovered stolen property were identified, several of the recovered items remain unclaimed. These items, including five vintage Oilers memorabilia prints and a limited edition gold truck ornament, are now posted on the EPS Pinterest page in hopes that the original owner(s) will come forward to claim them.
