Autopsy results confirm Sept. 19th suspicious death was a homicide

The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that Spiros Jerry Tziklas, 50, of Edmonton, died from a stab wound earlier this week, and the manner of death was homicide.

Tziklas’s body was discovered in a vehicle near 118 Avenue and 37 Street yesterday, Tuesday, Sept. 19th, 2017, at approximately 4:35 a.m., after Northeast patrol officers responded to a call from EMS for assistance.
 
Homicide detectives continue to investigate.

Every file is evaluated on a case by case basis. The EPS has decided to release the name of the deceased as it serves an investigative purpose.


Background:
Northeast Division patrol officers responded to a call for assistance from EMS regarding a single-vehicle collision near 118 Avenue and 37 Street, at approximately 4:35 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017.

 

Upon arrival officers found a deceased male in a vehicle with wounds not consistent with a collision.

 

Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation.
