Pedestrian succumbs to injuries in hospital

A pedestrian who was involved in collision yesterday morning succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The Edmonton Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate.

This is Edmonton’s 22nd traffic fatality.

Background

At approximately 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, police responded to a collision in the area of 113 Avenue and 95 Street. It was reported that a black Nissan Rogue was travelling northbound on 95 Street when it allegedly struck a male pedestrian in his 20s. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk. EMS treated and transported him to hospital.

The operator of the vehicle, a 45-year-old male, was not injured during this incident and remains cooperative with police. Speed or alcohol do not appear to be factors in this collision.
