One in custody after MacEwan University threatened online

A young man has been taken into custody following an Edmonton Police Service investigation into an online threat made against MacEwan University today.

During the early-morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, the EPS received a report of a threat made on a social media platform against the post-secondary institution. Downtown and West Division officers attended MacEwan University campuses this morning in response to the threat.

The investigation led officers to a residence in Sherwood Park where a 19-year-old male was taken into custody without incident at approximately 11:30 a.m. Charges are pending against the individual.
