Homicide detectives charge 73-year-old man with second-degree murder

Homicide detectives have charged a 73-year-old Edmonton man with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his son-in-law Friday evening in southwest Edmonton.

Roberto Robles, 73, is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon, in the death of 38-year-old Armando Cosmea-Aspillaga.

An autopsy to determine cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Background:

Southwest Division patrol members responded to a domestic dispute at a residence near 53 Avenue and Whitemud Road, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016.

Upon arrival officers found a deceased male inside the residence.
