On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, police responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision in the area of 41 Avenue SW and 50 Street. At approximately 9:40 a.m., a motorcycle was reportedly travelling northbound on 50 Street approaching 41 Avenue SW when a large gravel dump truck turned left from 41 Avenue SW eastbound onto 50 Street northbound and into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle reportedly collided with the rear of the gravel dump truck and then slid off the roadway while the gravel dump truck continued northbound on 50 Street.
EMS responded, treated and transported the 31-year-old male motorcyclist to hospital with non-life -threatening injuries where he remains.
“At this time, we are not sure the driver of the gravel dump truck is aware that a collision took place,” says Sgt. Travis Cruise with the EPS Major Collision Investigations Section. “As a result, we are looking to speak with any gravel dump truck drivers or witnesses that may have been in the area around 9:40 a.m. yesterday morning.”
Anyone with information about the vehicle, driver or collision is asked to contact the EPS complaint line at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile device. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
