Police investigate fatal collision

The EPS Traffic Section is investigating a fatal collision which occurred yesterday evening.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, police were dispatched to 127 Street and 127 Avenue on the report of a hit-and-run collision. Upon investigation, it was determined a 38-year-old female had been walking south along the east sidewalk between 128 and 127 Avenue. It is believed she then travelled across 127 Street, when a black Toyota Corolla struck her. The Toyota Corolla remained on scene.

 

While the pedestrian remained injured on the road a second vehicle, a sedan also struck the pedestrian but did not remain at the scene. The woman succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

 

Traffic investigators are seeking a person of interest, but do not have a vehicle and/or suspect description available for release at this time.

 

No charges have been laid and then investigation remains active and ongoing.

 

This is Edmonton’s 20th traffic fatality of 2018.
