Man charged with additional counts of sexual assault; police continue to seek additional complainants

The Edmonton Police Service has charged Vincent Noseworthy, 39, with additional counts of sexual assault.

In the interest of public safety, the EPS issued a media release on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, advising the public of Vincent Noseworthy, 39, who was charged in relation to a reported sexual assault. Noseworthy was active on online dating websites and investigators believed there were additional complainants.

 

As a result of media and public assistance, additional complainants came forward and on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, Noseworthy was arrested and charged with sexual assault (x2), sexual assault with a weapon and choking with the intent to overcome resistance. These charges relate to incidents that reportedly took place between December 2015 and April 2016 in Edmonton. He has since been released on conditions, including:

 

  • He must reside at a specified address

  • He must abide by a curfew of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily

  • He must not have any contact, directly or indirectly, with the victim of his offence

  • He must not purchase, possess or consume any alcoholic beverages or consume or possess any drugs, any prescription drugs not prescribed or any other intoxicating substances.

  • He must not possess any weapons, including knives (except in a residence or restaurant for the sole purpose of consuming a meal).

 

Investigators remain concerned that Noseworthy may commit another offence against someone while in the community and are re-releasing his photo as a result. Noseworthy may still be active on online dating websites and may use the name Vinnie Worth.

Detectives also continue to believe there may be more complainants in Alberta and other provinces and encourage them to come forward, regardless of where they live.

Background

 

On Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, an adult female reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by a male, identified as Vincent Noseworthy, on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018.

 

The female reportedly met Noseworthy, who she became acquainted with through Tinder, for a date.  The two then drove to a rural location outside of Edmonton in the female’s vehicle where Noseworthy allegedly confined her and violently sexually and physically assaulted her.

 

Noseworthy was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 and was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, choking with the intent to overcome resistance, assault and unlawful confinement. He was released on conditions.
