Police asking public to help identify suspect in multiple thefts from liquor stores

The Edmonton Police Service is asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a female reportedly entered a Liquor Depot in the area of 133 Street and 114 Avenue, walked through the aisles and placed two bottles of alcohol in her handbag.  After she was approached by staff and asked for identification, she allegedly refused to provide it and left the store without making any attempt to pay, taking a third bottle of alcohol as she exited.

Since August, the same female has reportedly committed at least 14 similar thefts at Liquor Depots across the city, the most recent theft taking place on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at a store in the area of 99 Street and 81 Avenue.  While active citywide, she is known to frequent liquor stores in the city’s west end, including Liquor Depots in the Meadowlark and Westmount neighbourhoods.

The suspect, pictured below, is described as an Indigenous female in her 20s with bleach blonde hair. She is approximately 5’5” tall and weighs approximately 200 lbs. In each incident she was reportedly carrying an oversized handbag or tote.
