Morning stabbing confirmed a homicide

EPS Homicide Detectives continue to investigate the death of a male who was stabbed early this morning.

The manner of death has been confirmed a homicide.

 

Autopsy results are pending.

 

The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

 

This is Edmonton’s 23rd homicide of 2017.

Background

 

On Friday, June 16, 2017, a male flagged down a passing police vehicle in the area of 188 Avenue and 50 Street just before 3:30 a.m. to report that another male had been stabbed in a nearby alley.

 

Police located the injured male and called for EMS; however, he died on scene.
