Person found dead at scene of residential fire

Southeast Division patrol officers responded to a residential fire near 98 Street and 81 Avenue at approximately 11 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased individual at that address.  Homicide detectives were called out to the scene to investigate.

Gender and identity of the deceased will be released following an autopsy scheduled for later today at the Medical Examiner's Office.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
