Driver facing TSA charge in connection to Jan. 4th cyclist fatality

A 62-year-old male is facing a charge under the Traffic Safety Act, in connection to the death of a 64-year-old cyclist back on Jan 4, 2021.

At approximately 3 p.m., Jan. 4, 2021, a collision occurred at the intersection of 50 Street and 94B Avenue. An east bound flat deck picker truck and trailer, driven by the 62-year-old male, was turning south on 50 Street from 94B Avenue when it struck a cyclist.

The 64-year-old male cyclist sustained fatal injuries on scene. Speed was not considered a factor.

The driver of the 2014 Western Star flat deck picker truck is charged with failure to proceed safely after stopping at an intersection under the TSA.
