Male arrested, charged in connection to murder of Russell Storoschuk 

Investigators from the Edmonton Police Service’s Homicide Section have arrested and charged a 23-year-old Edmonton man in connection to the Aug. 22, 2020 murder of Russell William Storoschuk.

Storoschuk, 68, died on Aug. 22, 2020, following an unprovoked attack in the area of 118 Avenue and 42 Street at around 4 a.m. that morning. The Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed that Storoschuk died from blunt force trauma and the manner of death was homicide.

Surveillance obtained from businesses in the 118 Avenue area helped investigators identify a suspect,
Darrell David Taylor, 23, who was taken into custody Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020 in downtown Edmonton.

Taylor has since been charged with second degree murder.
