The Edmonton Police Service has charged three suspects in connection to a lengthy series of commercial break and enters across the city and throughout the province. Over a five-month period dating back to December 2019, EPS Southeast and Southwest Division investigators identified a pair of suspects allegedly involved in more than 30 B&E incidents.
The series involved break and enters in Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Par, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Nisku/Leduc, Wetaskiwin, Edmonton and as far south as Calgary.
On Thursday, April 16, 2020, police received several reports of B&Es at various residences and businesses including convenience and liquor stores, as well as an industrial yard and a show home in Edmonton and surrounding communities.
The suspects were arrested and taken into custody shortly thereafter by the Southwest Project Team with the assistance of EPS Canine Unit and Southeast Patrol.
Peter Bartholmew Sowan, 26, is facing 17 B&E and theft-related charges.
Crystal Sowan, 36, is facing one count each of theft under $5,000, theft of motor vehicle over $5,000 and break and enter of a dwelling house and commit theft over $5,000.
Damon Shane Boake, 24, is facing 16 B&E and theft-related charges.
