Edmonton chiropractor facing additional sexual assault charges

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has laid 15 additional charges against 65-year-old Ron Harry Latch, in relation to a number of sexual assaults.

In 2018, a female complainant reported to police that in 1986, when she was a minor, the accused sexually assaulted her on numerous occasions while she was a patient at his chiropractic practice. Latch was charged with one count of sexual assault on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019.

On Friday, March 1, 2019, the EPS issued a news release in relation to Latch as investigators believed there may be additional complainants.

Since then, a number of complainants have contacted police. Latch is charged with sexual assault (x13), sexual interference and gross indecency. These charges involve 10 complainants and all stem from separate incidents, which allegedly occurred between 1982 and 2017.

The EPS’ Sexual Assault Section continues to investigate.
