The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section has charged a 24-year-old male in connection to a violent, random assault that sent a 65-year-old man to hospital with life-threatening injuries last week. Tyshawn Carl Murray Noering, 24, is facing one count of aggravated assault.
Noering is alleged to have viciously and randomly attacked a 65-year-old male who was out for a walk around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, on a walking path near 48 Street and 22 Avenue in the southeast neighbourhood of Pollard Meadows.
The 65-year-old male victim remains in hospital in critical condition today, Tuesday.
Investigators are still seeking witnesses to this violent incident, and are urging anyone who may have seen an altercation on the footpath near the southeast corner of 23 Avenue and 50 Street around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
