Mohamed Ahmed Sassi, 22, was taken into custody without incident this morning (Friday, Sept. 21, 2018) in Edmonton.
Sassi has since been charged with manslaughter.
“With any investigation, the cooperation of witnesses is the single biggest factor in police being able to successfully close any case,” says Det. Kurt Martin with EPS Homicide Section. “It is because of the courage of the witnesses who came forward that we were able to get some resolution for the victim’s family.”
Police continue to investigate, and urge witnesses to the assault or events leading up to it to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
