Victim of aggravated assault passes away in hospital

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a man following an aggravated assault last week (May 20, 2015).

West Division officers responded to a call at 151 Street and 111 Avenue, where they found 54-year old Randy Evans lying outside the front doors of the Aurora Hotel. The man was treated at the scene and immediately transported to hospital by EMS, but died several days later. An autopsy has been conducted and Evans’ death has been confirmed as a homicide. No further details will be released regarding the cause of death.

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Unit is still investigating whether an abandoned, stolen Dodge Durango, Alberta license plate number BRR-5383, is linked this incident.
