An Edmonton Police Service (EPS) officer was charged today in relation to a collision which took place on Oct. 08, 2014.

The constable was on duty and responding to a high priority call for service when the collision occurred.
Const. Ashlee Shepansky, a 6-year member with the EPS, was charged with dangerous driving pursuant to section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The constable is currently assigned to administrative duties.
The charges follow an in-depth investigation by the EPS Professional Standards Branch. As the matter is currently before the courts, the EPS will not be commenting further.
