Autopsy results confirm stab wound as cause of death

An autopsy conducted earlier today confirms a suspicious death that occurred Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, is a homicide.

The Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Kyle Curtis Scheck, 26, sustained a fatal stab wound to his chest last night. A second victim injured during Thursday’s violent altercation remains in hospital recovering from multiple stab wounds.



Investigators now believe the incident was drug and gang related, and they continue to search for potential witnesses and suspects.

Background:


Northeast Division Patrol members responded to a disturbance call near 128 Avenue and 65 Street, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Thursday, where upon arrival they found one deceased male. A second male, who sustained multiple stabs wounds, was found in a nearby business parking lot at 128 Avenue and 66 Street. He was rushed to hospital by EMS, where he remains in serious condition.
