The Edmonton Police Service has issued arrest warrants for Rodney Gambler, 26, who allegedly breached conditions of his court order.[No text in field]

Gambler is wanted for breach of recognizance (x2).

He poses a great risk to the public and is considered by police to be a violent and sexually violent offender, most notably while under the influence of any intoxicants.

Gambler is described as being 5’10”, 165 lbs, with dark brown/black hair and brown eyes. He is considered dangerous, is known to carry weapons, and should not be approached.

Police seek public’s assistance identifying fraud suspect

The Edmonton Police Service is asking the public for assistance in identifying a male suspect believed to have defrauded a citizen of more than $25,000.

Between Aug. 16 and Sept. 19, 2019, police believe a male suspect used a stolen credit card to make fraudulent purchases at various locations throughout Edmonton including clothing stores, restaurants and casinos. In total, 145 fraudulent purchases were made totalling more than $25,000.

The suspect is described as a 35-45-year-old white male with short brown hair who weighs approximately 160-180 lbs and is approximately 5’8" to 6’0" feet tall. Photos of the suspect are included below.

Located: Justin Hotte taken into custody

The Edmonton Police Service has arrested and charged Justin Hotte with multiple theft-under $5,000 offences and two breach of conditions in connection to a series of liquor store thefts dating back to last summer.

Hotte was taken into custody at a residence in Northwest Division Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, following a tip from the public.

Background:
The EPS is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 38-year-old male wanted on nine outstanding warrants.

 

In August 2019, the EPS issued a media release seeking assistance identifying a male that was believed to have stolen thousands of dollars of liquor from stores citywide.  Investigators have since identified the suspect as Justin Hotte, 38, and are seeking the public’s assistance locating him.

 

Officers believe that Hotte was involved in at least 19 thefts from liquor stores in the city and surrounding areas between June 12 and Oct. 3, 2019. In addition to liquor thefts, Hotte has also reportedly committed seven other retail thefts, primarily targeting electronics. To date, Hotte has allegedly stolen approximately $17,000 in merchandise and is wanted on nine warrants, including robbery and theft under $5,000.

Investigators seek surveillance images from southwest shooting incident on Monday

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in connection to an attempted murder that occurred outside of a southwest apartment building Monday afternoon.

On Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at approximately 3:07 p.m., Southwest Division officers responded to a call for assistance from EMS. It was reported to police that a 20-year-old male was found in an apartment building parking lot on Saddleback Road east of 18 Avenue.

Paramedics treated and transported the male to hospital with what appears to be a gunshot wound where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Detectives continue to investigate and are seeking the public’s assistance securing any available surveillance footage from the area. Investigators are hoping to connect with any citizens and business owners in the Bearspaw, Twin Brooks, Kaskitayo and Blackmud neighbourhoods who may have video recording devices in their vehicles, residences or businesses that gathered footage from Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Officers are specifically looking for recordings between 9 Avenue and 23 Avenue and Saddleback Road and 109 Street. Charges laid in Remand Centre death

The EPS’ Homicide Section has charged a 38-year-old male in connection to the death of an in Edmonton Remand Centre (ERC) inmate in June. Clayton Berard, 38, is charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of 57-year-old Bruce Donald Windsor.

Berard remains in custody. No further information is being released at this time.

Background

At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, June, 29, 2019, police were called to the Edmonton Remand Centre (ERC) on the report of a death. Upon arrival, police found Bruce Donald Windsor, 57, unresponsive. He was declared deceased on scene by paramedics.

Police investigate suspicious death at lodging house

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating the death of a 55-year-old male.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, EMS contacted police in relation to a sudden death inside a suite at a lodging house in the area of 102 Street and 100 Avenue.  

An autopsy was conducted on, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, however the cause of death is not being released at this time pending further medical examinations. EPS Homicide investigators are treating the death as suspicious.

No further information is being released at this time.
