The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public’s help locating a 12-year-old Edmonton girl who has been missing since yesterday (Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018).

Autumn Deschambeault, 12, was last seen leaving Ben Calf Robe School in the area of 118 Avenue and 64 Street on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at approximately 2 p.m.

 

Deschambeault is described as an Indigenous female with black shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, with a piercing in her left eyebrow. She is approximately 5’6” tall and weighs 145 lbs.  She was last seen wearing a grey Bench brand sweater, black Lululemon brand leggings, and white running shoes.

 

Missing: Autumn Deschambeault, 12

 

Deschambeault may not be dressed for the weather, and her disappearance is considered to be out of character. As a result, there are concerns for her well being. There are no indications to suggest foul play at this time.

Edmonton man facing aggravated sexual assault charge; police believe there may be additional complainants

The Edmonton Police Service has charged a 28-year-old male with aggravated sexual assault following encounters that occurred approximately two years ago.

On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, it was reported to police that a 57-year-old male had engaged in consensual sex with Anthony Lee Taylor, 28, on two occasions in late 2016 and had contracted HIV as a result. It was reported that Taylor did not disclose his HIV status to the complainant.

 

Taylor was charged with aggravated sexual assault on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018.

 

Due to Taylor’s work in the sex trade and high-risk lifestyle, detectives from the Edmonton Police Service’s Sexual Assault Section believe there could be additional complainants who may have engaged in sexual relations with the accused, without being informed by Taylor of his medical history. Taylor is considered to have a high HIV viral load and has not sought treatment in a number of years.

Taylor is described as a black male, who is also known to present as female. Taylor stands about 5’7”, weighs approximately 125lbs and goes by a number of alias’ including Alex, Nikki, Tatiana and/or Tiana.

Missing elderly woman located

The 87-year-old woman who was reported missing on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 has been located.

Louise Janzen was located safe and unharmed this morning, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018.

Police request public's assistance locating missing man

The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public’s help locating a 40-year-old Edmonton man who has been missing since Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018.

Stuart Barclay, 40, was last seen leaving a residence in the area of 70 Street and 101 Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at approximately 9.p.m. Barclay reportedly left the area driving a white Chevrolet Equinox with Alberta license plate WWV 878.

 

The last known sighting of Barclay was at approximately 9:20 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at a business in the Park Royal area of West Vancouver, B.C. 

 

On Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, Barclay’s vehicle was located parked along highway 99 between West Vancouver and Squamish.

 

Police believe he may still be in the West Vancouver area and EPS investigators are actively working with the West Vancouver Police to locate Barclay.

 

Barclay is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 6’1” tall and weighs 180 lbs.  Barclay is described as having large loop ear lobe holes and currently has a beard and a shaved head.

Barclay’s disappearance is considered to be out of character, and as a result, there are concerns for his well-being. There are no indications to suggest foul play at this time.

Police seek public’s assistance locating missing elderly woman

The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 87-year-old woman.

Louise Janzen (see photos below) was reported missing by staff members of her assisted living residence near 103 Avenue and 120 Street, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018.

Janzen was last seen making a financial transaction at a bank in the Westmount neighbourhood in west Edmonton, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Surveillance images show Janzen leaving the bank with her walker.

 

Janzen is described as a female with blue eyes and grey hair. She is 5’5” tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. The surveillance images show Janzen wearing a blue and white plaid housecoat and a light blue and white checked skirt with black slippers, when she left the bank. 
 
Janzen’s disappearance is considered to be out of character, though there are no indications of foul play, at this time.

Police seek public’s assistance in IDing suspects in daycare B&E Series

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a pair of suspects believed to be responsible for a series of break and enters at daycare businesses throughout Edmonton and area.

A total of 15 daycares have been broken into ­thus far – nine in Edmonton and six in surrounding communities including Sherwood Park, Devon, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain – beginning with the first incident back on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at a daycare near 102 Street and 164 Avenue.

The most recent incident occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at a daycare near 82 Street and 117 Avenue.

In each incident, the suspects gained entry to the business by smashing the front glass doors.

The suspects have stolen cash, laptops and a PC tower. Investigators believe a male and female suspect are responsible for the series of break and enters. The male suspect was seen wearing a blue Nike hat, blue-hooded coat and white runners at some of the incidents.

The female suspect is usually wearing a camouflage hooded vest-type coat.

 

The suspects are also believed to be driving a dark coloured 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX (see surveillance images below).

Graduation day for EPS Recruit Training Class 142

The latest Edmonton Police Service recruits formally graduate from their training and become full-fledged police officers at a prestigious ceremony at City Hall today.

 

The recruits have come from diverse careers and countries to join the EPS.  While many were born in Canada, others were born and raised in China, Italy, Poland, Romania, Somalia, United States, and Zimbabwe. 

 

Having met all requirements, they recently completed an intense year of academic and field development training and assessment, and are now ready to serve their community as police officers. 

 

Graduating from RTC 142 will be 29 EPS officers (22 male, seven female), and one officer (male) from the Lacombe Police Service. 

 

Participating in the graduation ceremony are Police Chief Kevin Brezinski, Edmonton-Centre MLA David Shepherd, Edmonton Councillor Scott McKeen, Edmonton Police Commission Chair Tim O’Brien, and Lacombe Police Chief Lorne Blumhagen.

 

The ceremony is filled with EPS pride and tradition, and includes a formal procession by the EPS Honour Guard, performances by the EPS Pipes and Drums and the EPS Chorus, colourful flag and marching drills, comments from EPS members and special guests, and diploma presentations. 

 

Recruit class members also receive recognition awards for demonstrating excellence in problem solving, officer safety, academics, humanitarianism, fitness, and a trainers’ choice category. 

 

Members of the public are invited to join the recruits and their family and friends at the graduation ceremony.
