It was reported that just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 28, 2020, three masked males entered a hotel in the area of 127 Avenue and 120 Street armed with bear spray and a semi-automatic rifle. Two of the males threatened the patrons and staff, while the third entered a secure area, threatening staff with the rifle and demanding cash. The males then fled in a vehicle with a large quantity of cash.
Later that same morning, at approximately 4:45 a.m., patrol officers observed a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado being driven dangerously in the area of 129 Avenue and 113A Street.
Police observed the vehicle from a distance until it parked in the area of 129 Avenue and 116 Street, at which time the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver was arrested after a short foot pursuit, while a canine track was used to locate two others hiding a short distance away.
Detectives from the EPS Robbery Section determined these suspects were also suspects in the earlier robbery.

Justin Sutherland, 33, Joshua Gauthier, 21, and Josiah William Quinn, 27, all known to reside in both Edmonton and Calgary, are charged with 65 offences, including one count each of robbery with a firearm and disguise with intent.
All three accused were remanded into custody with further charges pending.
