At approximately 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, police received a report of an abduction in a trail south of Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour School (3815 Allan Drive SW). It was reported that a 14-year-old girl was walking to a residence in an unlit trail after leaving the school, when she was grabbed by an unknown male and pulled off the trail. A struggle reportedly ensued, however the girl was able to flee to safety.
The unknown male suspect is described as having a very muscular, athletic build and is believed to be approximately 6’2". He had brown eyes and spoke with a deep, raspy voice. He was wearing a black hoodie with his hood up, black jeans, black work boots and a black medical-style mask. The suspect allegedly smelled of alcohol and is believed to be between 30 and 40 years of age. He may have sustained irritation to his eyes and face from the struggle.
Police continue to search for the suspect and are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about him or the incident.
Detectives do not believe the suspect and youth were known to one another.
The 14-year-old girl is receiving support from the Zebra Child Protection Centre.
