Autopsy results confirm death of male is homicide

The death of a 47-year-old male that took place in central Edmonton last week is being investigated as a homicide.

On Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, Downtown patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased male inside an apartment suite at 93 Street and 104 Avenue.

 

An autopsy took place yesterday, Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, and the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined that Derek Cowan, 47, died as a result of being stabbed.

 

Homicide Section continues to investigate.
