At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, Southeast Division patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Ellerslie Road and Parsons Road. When officers arrived, they located an injured 21-year-old male in a parking lot.
EMS treated and transported the male to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early this morning (Tuesday, July 3, 2018).
Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation. An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.
A vehicle that was later found burning in the area of Highway 21 and Highway 625 near Beaumont is believed to have been involved in the drive-by shooting. Police continue to investigate.
