Police seek tips from public following school vandalism

The Edmonton Police Service is looking for information from the public after St. Angela Catholic Elementary School was vandalized last week.

Police received information that St. Angela School had been significantly vandalized on both Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 and on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.

When Northwest Division patrol officers attended St. Angela’s, they noted several profanities painted on the exterior of the building, which also covered the lights and windows of the school.

Const. Lee Schell with Northwest Division is looking to speak with anyone who may have information about the damage caused to the school.

“We are looking to the public to help us identify the suspect(s) responsible for this act of vandalism,” says Const. Lee Schell. “Damages are expected to equate to well over $5,000.”

*Please note the exterior of the school has since been cleaned up. Photos of the vandalism are not included due to the nature of the profanities.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at http://ift.tt/1az8Eve.
