The Medical Examiner has determined that Armando Cosmea-Aspillago sustained stab wounds during a life-ending assault Friday evening, but announced it will undertake further analysis before formally confirming the cause of death in the city’s latest homicide.
Homicide investigators have since charged Roberto Robles, 73, with second-degree murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon, in the death of 38-year-old Armando Cosmea-Aspillaga.
This is Edmonton’s 24th homicide of 2016.
Background:
Southwest Division patrol members initially responded to a residence near 53 Avenue and Whitemud Road, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016.
Upon arrival officers found a deceased male inside the residence.
