Police searching for driver of SUV involved in hit-and-run collision with motorcycle last Sunday

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning, which sent a motorcycle driver to hospital with serious injuries.

Southwest Division patrol members responded to a call regarding a hit-and-run collision near 119 Street and Ellerslie Road just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2015.

Witness statements maintain that a grey Ford Escape was travelling eastbound on Ellerslie Road, when it crossed the centre line just east of MacEwan Road and struck a motorcycle that was travelling in the westbound lane.

The 34-year-old male motorcyclist was taken by EMS to hospital and underwent surgery for multiple injuries.

The grey Ford Escape fled the scene and was located by Southeast Division patrol members, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday, near Mill Woods Road East and 50 Street. The EPS Major Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate.
